Crimson Storm Open Season with Draw

SNU women battle back to tie Midwestern State 2-2 at Wes Harmon Field

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene Women's Soccer kicked off the 2025 season at Wes Harmon Field with a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Midwestern State.

The Mustangs (0-0-1, 0-0-0 LSC) struck first in to grab an early lead. The Crimson Storm (0-0-1, 0-0-0 GAC) created several chances in the opening half, with Ella Adams, Bella Morgas, and Gabriella Ponce all testing the Midwestern State's defense, but SNU went into the break trailing 1-0.

Midwestern State doubled its advantage early in the second half, but the Crimson Storm refused to go away quietly. With seventeen minutes remaining, Danika Womack stepped up to the penalty spot with a chance to put SNU on the board. Her attempt was denied by the keeper, but Womack stayed locked in and pounced on the rebound, knocking it in to cut the deficit to 2-1. The goal gave SNU new life and shifted the momentum of the match.

Just minutes later, Millie Butler found the equalizer, finishing off a strong Crimson Storm attack to tie up things at 2-2.

Southern Nazarene pressed hard for a winner in the closing moments, with Adams and Morgas both firing dangerous shots on goal, but the Mustangs held on as the season opener ended in a 2-2 draw.
