Crimson Storm Fall in Season Opener

SNU battles hard but drops 1-0 match to Oklahoma Christian

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene opened the 2025 season under the lights at Wes Harmon Field, battling back and forth with Oklahoma Christian before falling just short in a 1-0 decision.

Only a minute into the match, Junior Duran nearly put Southern Nazarene (0-1-0, 0-0-0 GAC)  on the board with a strike toward the top left corner, but Oklahoma Christian's keeper Nick Hardiman was there to make the stop. The Eagles (1-0-0, 0-0-0 LSC) responded in the twelfth minute with a chance of their own, but Crimson Storm goalkeeper Aimar Aramendia came up big to keep it scoreless.

Neither side could find the back of the net in the first half, sending the teams into the break knotted at 0-0.

The Crimson Storm created early chances after halftime as Baptiste Auvray tested the keeper, and Aramendia answered with another clutch save on the other end. Southern Nazarene continued to press late, with Luis Urquiza sending one just wide before Dylan Roberts and Keshon Carter each forced Hardiman into tough saves.

Oklahoma Christian eventually found the breakthrough with the lone goal of the night, handing the Crimson Storm a hard fought 1-0 setback in their season opener.
