Storm Close Out Season with 1-1 Draw in Alva

Southern Nazarene wraps up the year with a hard-fought tie against Northwestern Oklahoma State.

ALVA, Okla. - Southern Nazarene battled to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon against Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva.

The Crimson Storm (6-9-3, 4-6-2 GAC) came out strong in the first half, creating several early chances. Sam Smith fired the first shot of the day, followed by a close attempt from Bella Morgas that was stopped by Rangers (10-5-3, 5-5-2 GAC) goalkeeper Taylor Annen. Gabriella Ponce added another look on goal, but Annen came up with another save to keep things even.

SNU finally broke through when Ella Adams found the back of the net off an assist from Morgas, giving the Storm a 1-0 lead. Goalkeeper Gianna Bonnett came up with a couple of key saves late in the half to keep Northwestern off the board as the Storm went into the break up 1-0.

In the second half, Southern Nazarene continued to apply pressure as Samantha Most fired another shot that was stopped by Annen. The Rangers answered midway through the half to tie the game at 1-1. The Storm had more chances down the stretch, including shots from Most, Avery Pyle, and Danika Womack, but couldn't find the go ahead goal.

Southern Nazarene and Northwestern ended the match knotted at 1-1 in Alva, as the Storm close out their season and look ahead to 2026.
