Storm Falls to No. 15 Rogers State in Bethany

Kaden Slaven nets late goal, but SNU drops 3-1 match to the Hillcats Saturday night at Wes Harmon Field

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene men's soccer came up short on Saturday night, falling 3-1 to No. 15 Rogers State University at Wes Harmon Field.

The Crimson Storm (4-5-2, 2-3-1 GAC)  battled early as goalkeeper Aimar Aramendia came up with a couple of big saves to keep things even. Rogers State (8-1-2, 4-1-0 MIAA) eventually broke through midway through the first half to take a 1-0 lead. SNU had a few good looks before halftime with shots from Kaden Slaven and Bafode Savane, but the Storm went into the break trailing 1-0.

Just two minutes into the second half, Rogers State added another to make it 2-0. SNU kept pressing, creating chances from Mourad Siaka, Pedro Arbizu, and Francisco Chong, whose shot hit the post. Adnan Boulaghmal forced another save from the Hillcats keeper before Rogers State found the net again to push it to 3-0.

With under a minute left, Kaden Slaven found the back of the net to get SNU on the board, but it wasn't enough as the Hillcats held on for the 3-1 win.
