Storm and Oklahoma Christian Battle To a Draw

SNU’s match with OC ends in a 0-0 draw

EDMOND, Okla. – It was a battle under the lights as the Crimson Storm traveled a short distance from Bethany to face Oklahoma Christian in their GAC/Lone Star match up. Despite some close chances, both teams fought to a 0-0 draw in a defensive match.

The Storm came into the match with confidence after a strong performance against Dallas Baptist last Saturday at Wes Harmon Field, but Oklahoma Christian proved to be a tough opponent on their home turf. The game consisted of a lot of tension as both teams looked for a breakthrough.

SNU came out firing early in the first half, with Unaiz Shajani taking a shot with 27:32 on the clock that went just over the top of the goal. The Storm kept the pressure, but Oklahoma Christian's defense remained strong.

After halftime, Southern Nazarene's Axel Agurcia found a great opportunity at the beginning of the second half, taking a shot at the bottom left corner of the goal However, Oklahoma Christian's goalkeeper, Pepe Hinterschuster, made a save to keep the game level.

The Eagles had a comeback, and Isaias Silva tested SNU goalkeeper Andrej Krivokapic twice. Krivokapic kept going, making impressive saves in the middle of the half to deny Oklahoma Christian the lead.

Agurcia had another close chance with 62:28 on the clock, but his shot went wide of the left post. Although both teams created plenty of opportunities, neither managed to put the ball in the back of the net.

The match wrapped up with a 0-0 score as the Crimson Storm remained competitive on the road.
