Storm Offense Shines in Victory Over Newman

SNU defeated the Jets on the road, 4-1

WICHITA, Kan. - The Crimson Storm traveled to the plains for their final regular season match against the Newman Jets. The Storm offense shined bright and defeated the Jets, 4-1.

Southern Nazarene (12-4-2, 10-2 GAC) met Newman (4-10-3, 3-8-1 GAC) for the second time this season. The Jets defeated the Storm earlier this year, handing them their first conference loss of the year.

The Crimson Storm struck first and early with a goal from Esteban Ramirez during the 12th minute of the match. The Storm stayed hot scoring only a few seconds later thanks to a Bruno Ferreira goal. A pass from Rinta Takagi set up Ferreira to stretch the Storm lead to 2-0 early in the first half. SNU was stopped there by the Jets heading into the half leading, 2-0.

The Storm struck early again in the second half due to a penalty kick goal from Daniel Trojman during the 49th minute of the match to expand their lead, to 3-0. The Jets refused to back down and snuck one through to score and cut their deficit, to 3-1.

Ramirez scored one final goal for the Storm thanks to a Trojman assist. This would be all the offense for the Storm and for the Jets in the match.

The SNU offense led the match with 10 shots while the Jets only collected seven. The Storm offense was led by Ramirez who tallied 2 goals in the match.
