Storm Defeats the Rangers on the Road

SNU grabs a shutout victory over NWOSU, 2-0

ALVA, Okla. - The Crimson Storm traveled to visit the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva. Southern Nazarene grabbed a shutout win over the Rangers, 2-0.

The Storm (9-3-5, 5-2-4 GAC) took on the Rangers (2-7-8, 1-4-6 GAC) for the second time this season, after battling for a tie with the Rangers on their home field in Bethany. Southern Nazarene was looking to get back into the win column after three straight ties leading up to their match with the Rangers.

The first half of the match did not consist of much offense from either side. The SNU defense was hard at work defending the eight shots Northwestern took in the first half. The Storm offense was quiet, only tallying five shots in the first half.

The SNU offense remained calm and stayed the course maximizing the shots they were taking. Bella Morgas was once again the culprit for delivering the Storm some late second-half magic. Morgas used the 71st minute to break the tie and put SNU on the board first. Eight minutes later she sank in another goal to stretch the lead, 2-0.

The Crimson Storm defense was nails, helping keeper Gianna Bonnett defend the 17 total shots the Rangers took throughout the match. Bonnett tallied an incredible 14 saves and collected the shutout. This marks the 9th shutout for SNU this season.

Morgas led the Storm offense and ended the match with four shots and two goals. JQ Molgaard followed her up with three shots.
