ALVA, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Women's soccer team closed the chapter on their 2019 season as they fell to Northwestern Oklahoma State by the score of 6-2 on Saturday evening in Alva.
NWOSU (2-14-1, 0-11-1 GAC) held a 24-16 shot advantage in shots including 16-12 in shots on target. The Rangers had four corner kicks to the three of the Storm (2-14-2, 0-11-1 GAC) as the game got a little chippy towards the end when two red cards were given out.
Northwestern jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first 17 minutes of play. Southern Nazarene would counter in the 25th minute with a score by Senior
Rebekah Abrego, her first of the season. Right before the half, the Rangers managed to sneak their way into the net again bringing the match to 5-1 at the break. Right out of halftime, Kaley Whitworth of NWOSU would score her team a goal at the 53rd minute of the contest. The Storm would make their final push as Sophmore
Karsyn Matthews collected her fourth goal of the season at the 78th minute mark.

Karsyn Matthews led the attack with five shots while Delaney Stewart followed close behind with four shots of her own, three of those being on target.
Rebekah Abrego also added two shots in her final game, two of those being frame.
Southern Nazarene moves into the offseason as they conclude their 2019 season with a 2-14-2 overall record and a 0-11-1 record in GAC play.
