SNU drops match 3-1 on the road at ECU

ADA, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Women's Soccer team traveled down to Ada for a mid-day matchup, but were unable to come back home with a win as they fell 3-1 to East Central.

It took a while for SNU (2-10-1, 0-7 GAC) to make something of this game as they only shot the ball nine times to the 19 of ECU (4-8, 2-4 GAC). Although, the Storm did hold a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks, they couldn't find a way to capatalize off of them.

East Central proved to have the advantage the entire match as they broke the seal with a goal in the first half. Jordyn Gibbs pushed the lead to 1-0 when she scored in the 34th minute. Immediately out the gate of the second half, Kaylee Bruce of the Tigers notched a goal in the 46th minute. The Storm were able to catch a break when Natalie James scored off a penalty goal in the 54th minute to put the score at 2-1.

Kaylee Bruce would put a seal on the game with a goal, her second, in the 55th minute to bring the match to 3-1.

Hope Berry lead the way for the Storm in the shot category with two of her own, one of those being target. Natalie James, Sydney Davenport, and, Alexus Coxsey followed close behind with a shot each. Maci Attala and Ashlynn Pritchett shared time in the goalkeeper box as they amassed five saves together.

The Southern Nazarene Women's Soccer team will be back in action Thursday, to face off against the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist (6-5, 4-2 GAC) at the Wanda Rhodes Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
