Newman's Colleen Howard scored in the sixth minute and then again in the 23rd minute to give the Jets an early 2-0 lead. Kelsi Bussert notched her second goal of the season in the 35th minute to cut the lead to 2-1, before Newman scored one minute before halftime to take a 3-1 lead into the break.

The Jets tacked on two more goals to open the half and extend their lead to 5-1 before the Storm made it interesting.
