BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene had an opportunity Tuesday night to win back-to-back games for the first time since 2010, but Newman escaped Wes Harmon Field with a 2-1 win.

The Crimson Storm (1-2) took just three shots in the first half, but bumped that number up to 10 in the second. They saw six shots land on target, while the Jets (1-1) had nine of their 19 shot attempts wind up on goal.

After a scoreless first half from both sides, the aggressiveness was turned up several notches in the second. A combined five yellow cards were handed out as both teams looked to take a lead.

Jace Peckham gave the Crimson Storm the lead when the ball was played into the box in the 59
th minute, as the senior notched his first goal of the season. The Jets responded in the 71
st minute with two goals in an 18-second span to give them the 2-1 lead.

Southern Nazarene had a couple of excellent looks with under five minutes to play but it wasn't meant to be as the Jets escaped Bethany with their first win of the season.

Reagan Haydon tallied seven saves for SNU, as the freshman was able to keep the Storm in the game down the stretch.
