BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene had its work cut out for them Saturday at Wes Harmon Field, as it fell 3-2 to #14 Fort Hays State.

The Tigers (7-2-1) entered the match on a three-game winning streak while the Crimson Storm (3-7) looked to rebound after the loss on Tuesday. SNU almost pulled off an impressive comeback to tie the game, as the Storm fell behind 3-0 and made things interesting with a couple of late goals in the second half.

Fort Hays State tallied 19 shots in the game, 10 of those being on target while Southern Nazarene fired 10 shots and placed five of those on target. The Tigers took the 1-0 lead in the 19
th minute, and scored another goal in the 43
rd to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

FHSU came out of halftime and extended their lead to three goals with a score in the 47
th minute, and that's when the Storm made things interesting.

Angel Lopez in the 60
th minute as Lopez scored his second goal of the season to make it 3-1.

Later, Lopez connected with
Marcel Joseph who scored an incredible goal in the 78
th minute to cut it to 3-2. The Crimson Storm got a couple of good looks coming down the stretch to try and tie the game, but the Tigers defense held in the final 10 minutes.

Lopez finished with three shots on goal in the game as Joseph and Hernandez recorded the other two.
Colton Hadlock finished with five saves in goal for Southern Nazarene as well.

The Crimson Storm will get back to GAC play next week as they take on Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday night in Shawnee.
