Stars Hold Off Storm

Despite outshooting OCU in the game, SNU falls 2-0 at home

BETHANY, Okla.— In a match that was aggressive on both sides right from the opening kick, Southern Nazarene was ousted 2-0 by Oklahoma City University on Thursday night at Wes Harmon Field.

Coach Harmon was trying to take down his alma mater in the first meeting as the Crimson Storm (1-5) kept pace with the Stars (3-1), tallying 21 shots against OCU's 16.  SNU placed only eight shots on target while OCU landed nine on goal.

The Stars took a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute on a goal by Aboubakr Diallo. Diallo would add a second goal in the 31st minute to give Oklahoma City a 2-0 advantage at the half.  The Crimson Storm came out aggressive in the second half firing 14 shots, but never found the back of the net as OCU was able to hold them off.

In just his second start of the season for SNU, Marcel Joseph fired seven shots, landing four of them on goal.  Brayden Lovelace, Keegan Radichel, and Gustavo Guzman each added a shot on goal for the Crimson Storm. Goalkeeper Colton Hadlock recorded six saves in the effort.
