BETHANY - The Southern Nazarene women's soccer team closed the chapter on their 2018 season as they fell to the second ranked team in the GAC, Southwestern Oklahoma State, by the score of 6-0 on Saturday evening at the Wes Harmon Soccer Field.
Before the contest, SNU got the opportunity to celebrate the careers of three seniors in
Kelsi Bussert,
Ashley Owens, and
Kiara Rodriguez with a ceremony.
SWOSU held a 26-4 advantage in shots including 12-3 in shots on target. The Bulldogs had five corner kicks to SNU's two as it was a relatively clean game with very little fouls.Â
SWOSU jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 22 minutes of the game and eventually added goal number four before the break to take a 4-0 lead. Alimata Rabo notched a hat trick in the first half and would keep the scoring going with her fourth later in the second half. The Bulldogs tacked on one more late for the six goal victory. SNU put together a strong effort in the second half, getting some looks in their attack and somewhat slowing down a high paced attack in SWOSU.Â
Freshman
Nikki Lohr led the attack with two shots while fellow freshman
DeLaney Stewart andÂ
Maigen Rangel each added a shot a piece. Sophomore
Ashlynn Pritchett finished with six saves in goal.
Southern Nazarene moves into the offseason as they conclude 2018 with a 3-15 overall record and a 2-10 record in GAC play.
