SNU sends its seniors off with a 2-0 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State

BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene got a 2-0 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State to end the regular season on a three game win streak. The Storm will face off against the Bulldogs again on Thursday in the GAC Championships semifinals.

The Crimson Storm (7-11-0, 6-6-0 GAC) started the game off slowly on the offensive end as Southwestern Oklahoma State held the Storm to two shots in the first 38 minutes. However, the Storm ended the first half on an offensive surge. SNU took three shots in the final five minutes of the half, one of them finding the back of the net.

Meagan Chase dribbled into the box and fired off a shot that was blocked. The ball bounced around in the box until Hannah Robinson retrieved the loose ball and passed it to Chase, who took a second shot that sailed past the keeper into the upper left-hand corner for her eighth goal of the season. Giving the Crimson Storm a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half.

SNU took five shots in the first half with one on goal. The Storm held the high powered Bulldog offense to five shots as well with just three on goal.

Southern Nazarene went on the offensive in the second half as they outshot the Bulldogs 9-4 with four shots on goal. Chase scored her second goal of the game in the 54th minute as she took a pass from Shanae Vasquez and sent it to the back of the net for her ninth goal of the season.
