Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene got goals from
Jared Rangel and
Christian Hernandez but fell to Oklahoma Baptist 5-2 Tuesday Evening on Senior Night.
The Bison got on the scoreboard first as Martin Romero scored his first goal of the season in the 23
rd minute.
The Storm answered back four minutes later as they got a goal of their own in the 27
th minute. Hernandez dribbled the ball into the box, weaving in between defenders, he then passed the ball to an open Rangel who fired a rocket into the back of the net for his third goal of the season.
The Storm placed six of their first seven shots on goal and found the back of the net a second time in the 37
th minute.
Alan Armstrong dribbled into the box and placed a shot on goal, the ball was deflected by the keeper and bounced to Hernandez who kicked it in for his first goal of the season and his first ever goal at Southern Nazarene University.
The Storm took nine shots in the first half with six on goal and the Bison attempted 12 shots with five on goal. The Crimson Storm took a 2-1 lead into the half.
The second half belonged entirely to the Bison as they outshot SNU 10-9 and held the Storm to just one shot on goal in the second half.
The Bison scored early in the second half in the 47
th minute as the Storm allowed an own goal, knotting the game up at 2-2.
Oklahoma Baptist scored again in the 56
th minute as Jonathan Martinez scored his fourth goal of the season off of a Romero assist.
The Bison tacked on two more goals in the 72
nd and 87
th minutes to give OBU a 5-2 victory.
The Storm attempted 18 shots on the night with seven on goal while the Bison took 22 shots with 12 on goal.
Colton Hadlock recorded seven saves for the Storm and Oklahoma Baptist's Colin Spencer notched five saves.
