SNU Falls at Midwestern State

Midwestern State took advantage of two SNU red cards

WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Southern Nazarene had to play one man down for over 70 minutes and played with just nine men for the final 26:30 Thursday night in an 8-1 loss to Midwestern State.
 
The Crimson Storm (0-3) raced out of the gate with a goal in the 10th minute my Tommy Fiszel who scored from 25 yards out, but things started to slide down hill just eight minutes later.
 
In the 18th minute SNU's Gustavo Mendoza was red carded on a handball while defending an empty net as he tried to keep it a 1-0 game. The Mustangs converted the penalty kick to make it 1-0 and played the rest of the first half against 10 of SNU's players. MSU tacked on two more goals to lead 3-1 at the half and made it 6-1 before Keegan Radichel was sent off with a red card to put SNU down to nine men on the field. MSU added two more goals to hit the final score.
 
SNU's Jeff Ray had 10 saves in 64:09 played in goal before Colton Hadlock notched seven saves in 25:51 in goal. Ray took the loss (0-3-0) as the Storm faced 53 shots with 27 being on goal from the Mustangs. SNU put two of its five shots on goal.
