Southern Nazarene saw its season end with a 2-0 loss in the GAC Tournament

SEARCY, Ark. — Southern Nazarene saw its 2015 season come to an end as the Crimson Storm dropped a 2-0 contest in the Great American Conference Tournament to the top overall seed Harding.

The Crimson Storm (8-11-0) kept the game even through the first half, despite a heavy barrage of shots by the Harding offense. However, Bethany Sutherland, the GAC's leading scorer this year, wound her way through the SNU defense and found the back of the net in the 29th minute to give the Bisons a 1-0 lead.

The score held at 1-0 into the second half, but Sunderland scored her second goal of the game in the 49th minute off a penalty kick to secure the game for Harding.

The Crimson Storm offense was never able to get off the ground, with Harding holding a 22-7 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in shots on goal. Kelsi Bussert led SNU with three shots, all three on goal, while Ashley Owens, Siara Price, Brianna Evans, and Heather Digiantomasso each took one shot as well.

Natasha Fuentes played the full game in goal for Southern Nazarene, tallying five saves throughout the game.

Katy Crawford, Price, Paige Roark, Grace Self, Kasey Throgmorton, and Nancy Williams all played their final game for the Crimson Storm.
