Edging the Eagles

Southern Nazarene played through heavy wind and rain, earning a 2-1 victory over Oklahoma Christian

BETHANY, Okla. — Playing in heavy rain and winds for most of the game, Southern Nazarene used a big second half to score a 2-1 win over Oklahoma Christian.

The Crimson Storm (3-11-0) found themselves in an early hole after Ante Susic scored in the seventh minute to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. That score lasted into the second half, but SNU pulled even on Jared Rangel's third goal of the season in the 64th minute off a free kick from Keegan Radichel. Just ten minutes later, Tommy Fiszel scored his seventh goal of the year off an assist from Ismael Fernandez to put the Crimson Storm on top.

Southern Nazarene outshot Oklahoma Christian 18-17 during the game, thanks to a 14-9 margin in the second half. The Crimson Storm also edged out the Eagles in shots on goal with a 13-9 advantage.
