Second Straight Shutout

Southern Nazarene recorded its second straight shutout of the season

Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The seven-game road trip has begun for Southern Nazarene and the Crimson Storm are off to a hot start as they prepare to head north.
 
SNU (2-0) recorded its second straight shutout and knocked off the second straight former Sooner Athletic Conference rival with a 3-0 win over Oklahoma Christian.
 
Mallary Pineda continued to rack up points as the senior notched her second straight game with a goal and now has five points on the year. Alyssa Glitzke led the way though as the sophomore scored a career-high two goals. Bekah Stewart also assisted on two goals.
 
Glitzke gave SNU two quick goals in the first 15 minutes of the game as she found the back of the net in the 10th minute and 10 seconds into the 14th minute. Stewart assisted on both the early goals. The Crimson Storm put the game on ice in the 72nd minute when Pineda scored on an unassisted goal.
 
The Storm have now outscored its first two opponents 5-0. SNU outshot the Eagles 36-4, 24-1 in the first half, and had 13 shots on goal compared to just three by OC. Natasha Fuentes picked up three saves on the day.
 
The road gets a little longer now as SNU travels to Minot State (N.D.) Thursday for a 6 p.m. game before heading to Mary in Bismark, N.D., for a 12 p.m. game Saturday.
