SNU gives up four goals in a 4-1 loss to the University of Mary

Box Score BISMARCK, N.D. ­­— Southern Nazarene attempted 12 more shots than the University of Mary, but they couldn't keep up with their offensive firepower as they lost 4-1.
 
The University of Mary (1-1-1) got off to a strong start as they scored three goals in the first half.  Michelle McGary scored first off a pass from Zara O'Hagan to give the Marauders the 1-0 lead in the 29th minute.  Alyssa Dollinger scored three minutes later off a pass from Megan Searson to give the Mauraders the 2-0 advantage. Destiny Glaser headed the ball into the net off a corner kick by Emily Christensen in the 34th minute to give them a commanding 3-0 lead.
 
The Crimson Storm (2-2-0) were unable to put any of their 12 shots in the first half in the net. Eight of those shots were on goal, but it was a team effort by the Maruaders to hold them scoreless as they recorded two team saves in the first half.
 
The University of Mary quickly added to their lead as Andrea Muller scored off a pass from Sabra Bertsch in the 47th minute to give them a 4-0 lead at the beginning of the second half.
 
Southern Nazarene got on the board in the 75th minute off Grace Self's first goal of the season as she put Kasey Throgmorton's corner kick in the goal to make the score 4-1.
 
The Crimson Storm attempted 21 shots in the game with nine being on goal. The Marauders attempted nine shots with eight of them being on goal.
 
The University of Mary's Kelsey Ekstedt had six saves and SNU's Natasha Fuentes had four saves.

Southern Nazarene continues their long road trip as they travel to take on Eastern New Mexico Tuesday at 3 p.m.
