Storm Falls In Season Finale

Southern Nazarene couldn't escape Harding with a win on Sunday

Box Score SEARCY, Ark. — Harding's Averie Albright scored with only two minutes left in the game giving the Bisons a 3-2 lead and was just enough to outlast Southern Nazarene on Sunday afternoon.
 
SNU (9-9-0, 5-5-0 GAC) was the first team to get on the scoreboard when Alyssa Glitzke assisted Sherri Collins to give the Storm a 1-0 lead with 35 minutes to play in the first half. The Bisons (7-8-1, 6-4-0 GAC) scored just eight minutes later. Mckenna Smith found Audrey Adkison for her third goal of the season and tied the score 1-1. In the 31st minute of the half it was the Storm's turn again, Collins passed it to Kayla Miller for a header shot that found its way to the goal giving SNU a 2-1 halftime advantage.
 
SNU took 17 first half shots compared to the Bisons 4. Yoli Zamarripa had two first half saves for the Storm.
 
The Storm couldn't keep the Bison's out of the goal for too long in the second half. With 40 minutes to play Smith received a pass from Albright and scored on the right side of the goal tying the game at 2-2. The game looked to be headed into overtime, until the 88:03 mark there was a scramble for the ball and Albright gained control of it. She took a shot that landed in the right corner of the goal and gave the Bisons a 3-2 lead and ultimately the win.
 
Southern Nazarene outshot the Bisons by 24 shots. SNU attempted 30 shots and Harding only attempted six. 13 of Southern Nazarene's shots were on goal. Only five of Harding's shots were on target. Yoli Zamarripa had two saves for the Storm.
 
The loss was the last game of the regular season for Southern Nazarene.
