Box Score BOLIVAR, Mo. — Earning a road win in the Mid America Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is never easy, but the Crimson Storm were able to escape Southwest Baptist with a 3-2 victory and earn their first MIAA win of the year.

The Bearcats (0-11, 0-3 MIAA) got on the board first in the ninth minute when Matthew Shaffer scored a goal off of a corner kick and put it in the upper left corner of the net to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead.

The Storm (2-5, 1-2 MIAA) answered quickly though when
Edgar Pineda connected off of a shot from the right side of the field that bounced off the post and rolled into the goal to tie things 1-1. SNU extended its lead before the end of the half when
Hajime Chumpitaz scored his first goal of the season after receiving the assist from
Blake Rodgers to give the Storm a 2-1 lead headed into the half.

Pineda got SNU going quickly to start the second half after stealing a cross-field pass and putting it in the frame to give the Crimson Storm a 3-1 lead.

The Bearcats refused to go away though.

 In the 90
th minute, Jason Hasenohr headed the ball off the corner kick by Colton Harden to make it 3-2. Southern Nazarene was able to hold on for the 3-2 victory as time ran out.

"We came out a little bit flat," said SNU Head Coach
George Schroeder. "We went into halftime with a 2-1 lead and scored quickly in the second half to go up 3-1. We are continuing to improve, but we have to clean up some of our mistakes."

Southern Nazarene took 18 shots and 12 were on target.
Tyler Wythe had three saves for the Storm. The Bearcats had 14 shots and five were on frame.

Next the Storm play at Lindenwood in an MIAA game Saturday at 6 p.m.
