Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene's seniors played the last game they will ever play on Wes Harmon Field and the Storm were able to give them the farewell they deserved in a 2-1 Great American Conference win over East Central.
 
"The seniors are outstanding," said Head Coach Julie Duncan. "Their work ethic, their attitude, the way they push their teammates, they are a class act and they will really be missed next year."
 
SNU took an early 1-0 lead with 33 minutes to play in the first half after Mallary Pineda came across a deflection and put the ball in the bottom left corner of the net. The goal was Pineda's second of the season.
 
"Mallary's goal was just a beautiful setup." Said Duncan. "It was a one touch finish and it was picture perfect."
 
With 25 minutes to play in the first half, the Tigers struck back. Kourtney Holleman crossed the ball in front of the goal to Katie Glutz and she scored on the left side of to tie the game 1-1 headed into halftime. SNU took seven first half shots and four of them were on goal. The only shot East Central attempted was Glutz's goal.
 
The Storm started the second half similar to the way they started the first half on the offensive side of the ball. The Storm again scored quickly. With 31 minutes to play in the second half, Nancy Williams scored from 20 yards out on the left side of the goal as East Central was trying to clear the ball off of a corner kick. The goal was Williams  first goal of the season and gave the Storm a 2-1 lead and that was all the Storm needed to win. Southern Nazarene only allowed the Tiger's to take five shots and only one was on goal. The Storm took 14 shots and seven were on target.
 
Up next the Storm will hit the road as they travel to Northeastern State, Monday, at 7p.m.
