Five for Five

Southern Nazarene had five different players score a goal

Schaub notched her first two assists of the year.
Box Score ALVA, Okla. — All five goals were scored by five different players as Southern Nazarene trounced Northwestern Oklahoma State, 5-1, Sunday afternoon.
 
The Crimson Storm (4-4-1, 1-2-1 GAC) got back on the winning track after their last win came Sept. 7.
 
SNU scored three goals in the first 15 minutes before the Rangers finally stopped the bleeding in the 30th minute. Ericka Ramirez struck just four minutes in when she drilled one home off a free kick from 15 yards out to put SNU up 1-0. Less than eight minutes later, Sherri Collins took a Mallary Schaub pass and found the back of the net to make it 2-0.
 
Kendra Nixon gave the Storm a 3-0 lead in the 15th minute off a Bekah Stewart pass before Northwestern finally got on the board at the 29:38 mark on the clock.
 
Nancy Williams added one more goal before half in the 39th minute off a Sara Nazary assist. Kasey Throgmorton put the finishing touches on the match in the 89th minute off another Schaub assist.
 
SNU put 12 on its 19 shots on goal while Northwestern put three of its seven on frame and forced Yoli Zamarripa to make just two saves.
 
The Crimson Storm will now get set to host East Central, Thursday, for a 6 p.m. GAC contest.
