Not Enough Late

Southern Nazarene gave up a late goal and never recovered in a loss to Ouachita

Nixon has two goals on the year.
Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Kendra Nixon scored her second goal of the season for Southern Nazarene, but that was the only goal for SNU in a 2-1 loss to Ouachita Baptist.

The Tigers (5-1, 1-0 GAC) got a goal in each of the first and second and that was all they needed as the Crimson Storm (3-3, 0-1 GAC) nearly tripled OBU's shot attempts. SNU took 17 shots and put five on goal, but it was Ouachita who made the most of its attempts putting three of its six shots on frame.

OBU's Morgan Allen broke the scoreless tie in the 39th minute with her first goal of the year and gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead heading into intermission. The Crimson Storm tied it in the 65th minute, but less than 10 minutes later Sarah Broyles put the game away with a shot from the right side 22 yards out to make it a 2-1 game.

Yoli Zamarripa had to make just one save as OBU's Shelby Shepherd picked up four saves.

The Crimson Storm will now get set to host Harding, Sunday, at 2 p.m.
