Box Score CANYON, Texas — It was a rough opening night for Southern Nazarene as it was held to just two shots in a 3-0 loss to West Texas A&M, Thursday evening.
The Crimson Storm (0-1) took just two shots, but both were on goal as
Victor Oliveira and
Daniel Hernandez Jr. both put a pair of shots on frame.
The Buffs (1-0) put six of their 13 shots on frame, forcing
Blake Anderson to make three saves. Neither team found the back of the net early and the first goal didn't come until the 35
th minute when Colin Bjostad drove in a header off of a corner kick from Lukas Garcia to make it 1-0.
WTAMU added another in the first half on a Dominic Furness break away as he got one-on-one with Anderson to give the Buffs a 2-0 lead. Furness notched his second straight goal in the 53
rd minute on a penalty kick and that put it away at 3-0.
The Crimson Storm will now get set to travel to Springfield, Mo., where they will take on Drury, Saturday, at 7:30 p.m.
