Southern Nazarene finishes at runner-up at NCCAA National Championship

Atnip was named to the all-tournament team.
Box Score KISSIMMEE, Fla. — One of the longest runs of the year for Southern Nazarene finally came to a close as SNU fell 3-0 to California Baptist in the title game of the NCCAA National Tournament.

California Baptist defended its title and proved why it was the favorite despite being the No. 2 seed. The Lancers gave up just two shots, both in the second half.

CBU handed out two quick goals in the first four minutes of the game as Kelly Jenks put the Lancers on the board in the third minute before Daelyn Paul made it 2-0 less than a minute later. Jenks got her bookend goal in the 67th minute to seal it for CBU.

The Crimson Storm finish the season at 13-8-1 and will lose three seniors in Rachel Atnip, Kendra Nixon and McKenzie Redwine.

Atnip along with Sara Eguren and Bekah Stewart were named to the All-NCCAA Tournament team.
