East Central stuns SNU in overtime

Collins is tied for the team lead with six goals.
Box Score ADA, Okla. — Southern Nazarene watched a two-goal lead, that happened in the first nine minutes, disappear in overtime as East Central scored a golden goal in the 99th minute to win 3-2.

The Crimson Storm (9-7-1, 5-4-1 GAC) wrapped up the regular season by clinching at least third place in the Great American Conference and with an Ouachita Baptist loss in either of its next two games or a tie, SNU would earn second place.

Sherri Collins and Rachel Atnip could not have scored two quicker goals as Collins ripped the back of the net just 1:39 into the game off a Kendra Nixon cross. Atnip then scored her first goal of the season just four seconds into the ninth minute off a Mallary Schaub cross and the Storm looked to be en route for a route.

Just over 30 seconds later though the Lady Tigers (4-10-3, 4-4-2 GAC) got on the board and cut the deficit down to 2-1 before tying it in the 69th minute and forced overtime. That's when ECU's Taylor Kennedy put home the game-winning goal to end the regular season.

The Crimson Storm now get set to play in the NCCAA Women's Soccer Regional, Nov. 14-17. A location has not been set.
