Box Score

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. —
From the looks of Saturday night, the time away from the game field may have helped Southern Nazarene as SNU opened the Sooner Athletic Conference season with a 2-1 in over Oklahoma Christian.

The Crimson Storm (2-6, 1-0 SAC) had not played a game since Sept. 16 and looked like they were ready for a new season to begin. Aziz Tapsoba played the key role as he put SNU on the board in the 52nd minute and then assisted on the game-winning goal by Blake Rodgers in the 67th.

OC didn't get on the board until 74th minute when Tommy Guernsey scored on a penalty kick. That was the only goal allowed by Blake Anderson who made eight saves on the night. OC took 28 shots and put nine on goal, but the Storm were more efficient with their shot attempts as they put six of their 12 on goal. Tim Spencer recorded four saves for the Eagles.

The Crimson Storm will now get ready to host Rogers State, Tuesday, for a 7 p.m. SAC contest.
