Box Score

BETHANY — The momentum may have taken its sweet time getting to Southern Nazarene, but at least it's finally here. Three wins in-a-row; that's called a streak and that's what's happening for the Crimson Storm as they won their third straight match with a 1-0 victory over Mid-America Christian.

The Crimson Storm (5-8-0, 4-4-0 SAC) needed just on goal and it came from their usual freshman suspect in Blake Rodgers. The only goal of the game was scored in the 30th minute when Rodgers rebounded his own shot that bounced off MACU's keeper, Austin Custar, and found the back of the net for his ninth goal of the season.

Custar made nine saves on the night after the Storm out shot the Evangels (5-8-2, 2-6-0 SAC) 22-10 and put 10 of those shots on goal compared to just two by MACU. Ricky Cabello posted a pair of saves and he was tested late and made a couple of diving saves, but other than that, he wasn't tested as SNU controlled a majority of the possession.

The win keeps the Storm in seventh place in the conference and leaves them with two more games left in the SAC as they play at Oklahoma City, Saturday, for an 8 p.m. contest and then close the regular season at St. Gregory's for a 3 p.m. game.
