Chala claimed the inaugural Great American Conference Individual Championship as the junior knocked off Harding's Piper Huey (6-3, 6-4) in the flight one singles championship Saturday. Chala reached the finals after defeating Ouachita's Vanja Bogetic, 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinals before downing Annie Shannon of Henderson State, 6-2, 6-2, in the semifinals.
