Storm get game-winning hit from Inbody to upset No. 13 Southern Arkansas

Inbody's only RBI of the game was the game winner.
Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — There must be quite a bit fight left in the dog and it showed up Friday afternoon as Southern Nazarene knocked off No. 13 Southern Arkansas and did it with a run each in the final two innings to scored the 6-5 upset.

The Crimson Storm (17-23, 9-19 GAC) trailed 3-0 after the fourth inning, but started working back into the game. SNU got on the board in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a Mulerider (31-13, 19-6 GAC) error, but SAU answered right back with one in the top of the seventh to lead 4-1.

Southern Nazarene got two big bombs in the seven to tie it at 4-4. The first was a two-run blast to right as Nate Saquilon hit his seventh of the year. Just two batters later, Ryan Brosnan tied it with a two-out shot to left.

Southern Arkansas retook the lead at 5-4 in the top of the eighth, but thanks to another SAU error, SNU tied it at 5-5 in the bottom half of the inning. Jake Bidelman came on in relief to start the ninth and gave up just one hit and gave the Storm the chance to win it in the bottom half. Kyle Fultz singled to lead off the inning before he was thrown out at second on a fielder's choice. Two walks and an out later loaded the bases for Jacob Inbody who floated a single to right center to end it and give SNU the win.

Bidelman recorded the win to move to 2-1 on the year. Tim Coleman went the first eight innings and gave up five runs, just three earned, on seven hits and struck out four. Inbody went 2-for-4 on the day with an RBI and run scored. Saquilon also went 2-for-4.

SNU closes out its GAC season Saturday as it takes on Southern Arkansas again for a 12 p.m. doubleheader.
