KINGSVILLE, Texas — Southern Nazarene scored its second straight win with an 8-1 victory over Texas A&M Kingsville, losing just one doubles match.
The Crimson Storm (2-4) picked up wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles with it's only loss of the day coming at No. 1.
Deisi Bolivar and
Karina Kotova moved to 4-2 on the year with an 8-3 win at No. 2 while
Natalia Moreno and
Payton Bergmann won their second straight at No. 3.
Masha Andrianova and
Marina Shipilova lost 8-4 at No. 1.
Southern Nazarene swept all six singles matches in straight sets. Andrianova won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 while Moreno and Bolivar used tiebreakers in the second set to win. Moreno won 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 2 and Bolivar won 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) at No. 3 to score her fourth straight win. Kotova captured No. 5 at 6-0, 6-1 while Bergmann won her second straight match at No. 6 at 6-0, 6-2.
The Storm now get set to play at No. 22 St. Edward's (Texas), Thursday at 3 p.m.
