SHAWNEE, Okla. — Southern Nazarene had one last chance to hit some qualifying marks as the Crimson Storm competed at the OBU Last Chance Meet.
Michael Piatt took first in the pole vault as he cleared 4.70 meters to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. Kaclicia Williams also qualifiied as she took second in shot as she recorded a 13.13-meter toss.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team first and just edged Oklahoma Baptist by two-tenths of a second at 3:16.14. The 4x400The 4x100-meter relay team ran a 43.27 to take second.
Gerrod Coney took fifth in the 400-meter dash with a 48.60 while
Rilwan Jimoh was right behind in seventh at 49.60.
Travis Boyd and Jake Stephens went 2-3 in the discus as Boyd notched a toss of 44.08 meters while Stephens record a 42.72-meter throw. Boyd also won the hammer throw with a 51.60-meter throw.
Southern Nazarene will now get prepared for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, May 24-26, in Marion, Ind.
