Storm Close SAC Tournament in Fifth

Southern Nazarene finishes strong in loaded SAC field

Dolezelova was named to the SAC All-Tournament team after tying for sixth.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. —
Erika Dolezelova and Jordan Leibold each shot a 1-over par 73 to secure No. 20 Southern Nazarene in fifth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament.
 
Dolezelova and Leibold were two of five players who all shot a 73 as that was the third best mark of the round. Dolezelova moved into a tie for sixth place at 150 while Leibold placed in the top 10 for the third time this season at 153, finishing in a tie for 10th. Amanda Arrington and Makenzi Wagner shot identical scores at 162, both had an 81 in each round, as they tied for 24th. Macy Douglas was 14 shots better than her first round as she fired a 79 to tie for 35th.
 
The Crimson Storm entered the final day nine strokes back of No. 16 Wayland Baptist, and looked to gain some ground after shooting a 306 in the final round. The Pioneers though shot a 303 and stayed in fourth with a 613. SNU finished with a 625 in fifth.
 
No. 1 Oklahoma City closed the day with a 301 and captured the SAC title at 600. The Stars were followed by No. 11 Oklahoma Christian who got a 2-under par performance from Anna Arrese who shot a 71 in each round and won the individual title. No. 8 Lubbock Christian finished in third at 608. 
 
Dolezelova was named to the SAC All-Tournament team.
 
Southern Nazarene will now await to hear its fate from the NAIA to see if it will pick up an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship.
