SNU won its fourth straight SAC game

BETHANY, Okla. —
Southern Nazarene handed Saint Gregory's just its second loss of the Sooner Athletic Conference season and extended its streak in SAC play to four straight with a 13-7 win over the Cavaliers.
 
The Crimson Storm (11-16, 7-6 SAC) got a hit from each of its nine starters as James Tunnell led way going 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two run scored two runs. SNU hit three home runs on the day as Ryan Williams, John Basnight and Ryan McIntosh all went yard.
 
Williams went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a run scored while Basnight went 3-for-6 with an RBI and two runs scored. McIntosh was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
 
Jake Bidelman (2-1) picked up the win after allowing three runs, none of which were earned, on two hits. He struck out five in six innings of work. Matt Berry earned his first save of the year after he tossed the final inning and two-thirds. He gave up just one hit and fanned one.
 
The Crimson Storm got on the board first in the bottom of the first on a single to center by Tunnell before Riley Morrow and Jacob Inbody ripped back-to-back singles to put the Storm up 3-0 in the fourth. SNU took a 7-0 lead in the fifth. Basnight made it 4-0 with a solo home run to center. Tunnell and Josh Riley hit consecutive RBI triples to give SNU a 6-0 lead before SNU took advantage of an SGU error to score the final run of the inning.
 
The Cavaliers finally got on the board in the top of the sixth with three to cut it to 7-3, but SNU added two more in the bottom half of the inning on a two-run bomb to left by McIntosh.
 
Both teams traded four runs in the eighth as three of SNU's runs came on a three-run home run to left by Williams.
 
SNU will now play a 1 p.m. doubleheader, Monday, at Saint Gregory's to close out the season series.
