CONWAY, Ark. —
Southern Nazarene split games on the final day of the CBC Invitational as it fell 4-0 to Lyon (Ark.), but then upset No. 18 Williams Baptist (Ark.), 2-0. It was the third ranked opponent SNU has defeated this season.
 
The Crimson Storm (15-9) had just four hits and committed three errors in the loss to Lyon. Aubrey Jones was the only player with multiple hits as she went 2-for-4.
 
Kaci Crawford (5-5) took the loss after giving up four runs, one earned, on four and one-thirds innings pitched. She also fanned six.
 
In the nightcap, SNU got a complete game shutout from Jeneva Nelson (4-1) who struck out four and gave up just five hits.
 
SNU scored its only two runs in the second. The first came on a Kristina Forest single to left center to score Kaylee Allen. Forest then stole second base and on the throw down to second, Kacey Acker broke from third to give SNU the 2-0 lead.
 
Jill Clemence was the only player with multiple hits, going 2-for-3. Acker was 1-for-2 with a run scored.
 
Southern Nazarene will now travel to Science & Arts, Tuesday, for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
