Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Five seniors played their last games inside the Sawyer Center for Southern Nazarene and the 15
th-ranked Crimson Storm closed it style with a 62-51 win over John Brown.
SNU got a combined 43 points from the three seniors that started as
Logan Martin led the way with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field and 2-for-4 from 3-point range. Martin added eight assists and three rebounds. Martin became just the second player in school history to record at least 1,500 points, 600 assists and 500 rebounds. The only other player to do that was LeAnn Bezner (1996-2000).
Sharmeda Johnson finished the night with 14 points and nine rebounds as the senior went 7-for-12 from the field.
Abbey Marra notched her 10
th double-double of the season and the 21
st of her career with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
The Crimson Storm close out the regular season at 22-8 overall and 16-6 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. SNU led from start to finish and turned the tables on the boards by out rebounding John Brown 49-32 after getting out rebounded by 17 in Siloam Springs, Ark. The Storm pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
SNU also held the Golden Eagles to just 31.5 percent shooting from the floor, 26.9 percent in the second half.
The Storm never led by more than 11 in the first half and took a 34-25 lead into the break. SNU opened up the second half with an 18-5 run capped by an
Audra Skimbo trey as Southern Nazarene took a 52-30 lead with 11:21 left to play.
SNU led 54-34 with 9:06 on the clock when JBU started to cut into the lead. The Golden Eagles closed the game on a 17-8 run, but it wasn't enough as the Storm closed out senior night and the regular season with a win.
Southern Nazarene will now get set to defend their SAC Tournament title next week in Siloam Springs as JBU hosts this years' conference tournament. SNU will play sixth-seeded Oklahoma Baptist, Thursday, but no time has been set yet.
