Southern Nazarene shutout Oklahoma Wesleyan in the region title game

Schaub notched her fifth and sixth goals of the season.
Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY — From the first goal scored it was just a matter of time before Southern Nazarene could count down the clock and rush the field as SNU wrapped up the NCCAA Central Region Championship and spot in the NCCAA National Tournament with a 3-0 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan.

Mallary Schaub scored bookend goals in the sweep and Sherri Collins added a goal in the middle to bring her total to four in the tournament.

The Crimson Storm (11-7-1) got on the board first in the sixth minute when Schaub took a through ball from Sherri Collins and scored to put SNU up 1-0. The Storm carried that 1-0 lead into the second half and had give up just one shot for most of the game when Collins notched her 10th goal of the year in the 62nd minute off a rebound from a Kayla Thompson shot that kicked off the post.

Schaub put the game on ice in the 76th minute when she took a touch from Nancy Williams and beat the OWU keeper to make it 3-0.

The Storm gave up just two shots the whole game as Yoli Zamarripa had to make just one save.

The Crimson Storm advance to the NCCAA National Tournament, Nov. 28-Dec.1, in Kissimmee, Fla.
